Fall Color Driving Tour

Take a drive through this little slice of heaven we like to call home and discover how our lush Northwoods turns from a vibrant sea of green to a breathtaking canopy of color. No need to plan, we’ve got you covered with these driving tours of the area.

Fuel Up Your Belly and Your Car

Start with a great breakfast and a cup of joe at Leif’s Café, the Friendship House Family Restaurant, or Eagle River Roasters.

Then, stop by the pumps at Kwik Trip or Trig’s Shell Station and Carwash. Maybe grab some snacks inside so you don’t get too hungry on the road.

Colorful Day Trips

If you’re looking to stay near Eagle River, you’re in luck, because we still have colorful fall views and tons of fall festivities without the long drive.

Climb an Observation Tower

Head to Copper Peak in Ironwood, MI for some sky-high views. See the colors from above and take in the scenic beauty and fresh fall air while you’re up there.

Take a Scenic Drive

Head out on our long and windy scenic highways. For some heavily forested views take Hwy 45 N to Conover and turn left onto Cty K West or Hwy 70 east and turn left onto Kentuck Rd.

Stock Up on Sweets

What good is fall color without the flavors? Get some sweets like caramel apples and bog frogs from the Country Store.

Get Scenic Off the Road

Take a tour on the water to see some spectacular views from the Chain of 28 Lakes with Pirate’s Hideaway or Bill Hassey’s Boat Tours. Just don’t forget to bring an extra layer of clothing for those brisk fall days.  Or get in the thick of the color with an ATV/UTV ride.

Immerse Yourself in Color

Visit our area parks for an eyeful of fall color. We recommend stopping by Eagle Lake County Park, Dyer Park (T-docks) and hitting up all of our hiking and biking trails. If you’re really pressed for time, we say to start with the Three Eagle Trail to make the most of your short trip.
