Just because it’s America’s birthday doesn’t mean she should be having all the fun. From parades and fireworks to ice cream cones and picnics, you can celebrate Northwoods style with all of our area festivities. See what goes into making the most of your Fourth of July trip.
Book Your Stay
We don’t like to brag, but we do throw some pretty good festivities for the Fourth. So it’s a pretty popular place to celebrate. Make sure you book your lodging early, or you might be sleeping under the stars – which isn’t a bad alternative as long as you’re at a campground.
Party in the Street
Join us on the Fourth of July for our inaugural Party In the Street celebration in Downtown Eagle River from 10:00am to 3:00pm. With the Fourth of July Parade, food, music, beer garden and more, you can celebrate with the entire town.
Feast Your Eyes on Fireworks
Grab your blanket and gather the family around as you ooh and ahh at the show in the sky. Get there early to nab the best spot as the sun starts to set over the Vilas County Fairgrounds.
Take in a Show
Don’t miss the Chain Skimmers water ski show. They’re great to see all summer long but you’ll probably get to enjoy a few extra tricks on holidays like this one.
Grab a Scoop – or Two
There’s nothing that beats the summer heat like a good old-fashioned ice cream. Whether it’s one scoop or two, cone or dish, you can’t go wrong with the ice cream in Eagle River. Get the scoop on our scoops here.
Beat the Heat
Get out of the sun and into the water with a boat or wave runner rental. Book early because our lakes can get crowded with more than just a lot of fish.
