33rd Annual National Championship Musky Open

August 17-19, 2018

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center along with the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin each year host a very exciting family oriented catch and release musky tournament held on 7 different lake families.

Labor Day Arts and Crafts Show

September 2, 2018

10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Downtown Eagle River.  Take in a late summer arts and crafts show featuring many area crafters as well as artists from the northwoods and beyond.  Also featured will be downtown businesses placing sale products for sale on  tables outside of their stores.  Then don’t forget to take in Sausage Fest being held in Riverview Park.

SepTimber Ride

September 8, 2018

Join us for one of two great rides:

  • A Trail Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Three Lakes Winery and back on the Three Eagle Trail (28 miles).
  • A 50K Northwoods Road Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Conover, WI area on a loop route (31 miles).

Proceeds support the Great Headwaters Trails Foundation in the development of bike trails for eastern Vilas County.

Eagle in One Golf Outing

39th Annual Cranberry Fest

October 6-7, 2018

9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, Vilas County Fairgrounds. Cranberry Fest is a family fun festival having something for everyone with activities being held throughout town. Old-Fashioneds Up North

November 10, 2018

Northwoods bartenders will put their skills to the test in our Old Fashioned making competition. Each restaurant will be represented by two bartenders who are limited to two Old Fashioned recipes.  Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided and there will be live entertainment with a supper club theme throughout the evening.  This event is being held at Eagle Waters Resort from 6 – 10pm.

56th Annual World Championship Snowmobile Derby Week

Vintage World Championship Derby

January 11 – 13, 2019

Classic Vintage Races dedicated to the grand old racing machines of the sixties, seventies and eighties.  These machines are meticulously resorted, the engines are tuned and reliable and the competition is highly reminiscent of the “good old days”.

World Championships Snowmobile Derby

January 17-20, 2019

From its humble beginnings on Dollar Lake to the multi-million dollar facility we all enjoy today; the Derby was destined to be the best. It hosts three separate racing venues: ice oval, sno-cross and vintage racing.  Thursday evening features time trials, Friday night features “Friday Night Thunder”, Saturday features grueling heats, quarter and semi finals all leading up to the Championship Finals on Sunday. Racing Daily at 10:00 am.

14th Annual Labatt Blue USA Adult Pond Hockey Championships

February 8 – 10, 2019

USA Hockey and Labatt Blue invites you, your teammates and families to enjoy the experience at this year’s 4 on 4 Pond Hockey Championships held on Dollar Lake. For information on registration go to USA Hockey website.  (Registrations will be accepted starting around mid July 2018 for the 2019 Championships. Watch for it.)

23rd Annual Journeys Marathon

COME RACE OUR SCENIC RACE COURSE

Journeys Marathon is a challenging and inspirational spring race that starts with the woodland backdrop of Boulder Junction, WI on rustic roads while meandering through the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest and passing many scenic northern Wisconsin lakes. This is a race not to be missed.  Other races offered include a half marathon, 13.1 mile power walk, 10K and 5K.

Eagle River's Up North Beerfest & Premier Beer Night

June 7 – 8, 2019

Held on the grounds of Hi-Pines Campground.

Up North Beerfest – Saturday, June 8th from 2pm – 6pm.  Microbrews and craft beers from more than 30 breweries will be featured. Attendees will receive a souvenir tasting glass and can learn about the brewing process from some of the Midwest’s most celebrated brewers.

Premier Beer Night

We will kick off Up North Beerfest on Friday evening with a NEW event called Premier Beer Night – a more eloquent tasting of hand crafted beers on Friday evening, June 7th from 6pm to 8pm. This is a special tasting of specialty beers presented by 12 of the 33 Up North Beerfest Breweries. (They will showcase beers that will not be served at the event on Saturday.) We will literally be rolling out the red carpet for this evening – there will be live entertainment, tasty hors d’oeuvres and a special sampling glass for all to enjoy.

Party In the Street - Eagle River's 4th of July Celebration in Downtown Eagle River

Party in the Street – Downtown Eagle River

Join us in downtown Eagle River for our 4th of July Festivities.

10:00am – 11:00am –  Music by “Still Kicking”, food and beer garden available at the corner of Main and Wall Street

11:00 am –  Kick off of the 4th of July Parade.  Celebrate our nations’ freedom and Eagle River’s hometown pride by taking in our spectacular parade with over 80 entrants including many specialty floats.

12:30 – 3pm – Wall Street, in the first two blocks First to Railroad Street, will continue to be shut down to traffic to continue the festivities after the parade.   Music by “Still Kicking” , food, entertainment for children and  the beer garden will be available on Wall Street.

Fireworks Display –  Vilas County Fairgrounds (Hwy 70 W)

5pm – Dusk     Enjoy DJ T spinning tunes, and food and beverages will be available.

Eagle River Fishing Day for Kids

July 11, 2019

This is fun filled day for children between the ages of 7-12 years old. Area fishing mentors come together to share the beautiful northwoods by taking a child fishing for the afternoon. It’s a great event where many fishing tales and traits are shared and learned. Held at the Vilas County Fairgrounds from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Pre-registration is required.  There are 50 spots available for participating kids on a first come first serve bases.  To register or for more information contact the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce at 800-359-6315.

47th Annual Artarama Riverwalk Art Show and Sale

July 20, 2019

9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Riverside Park.This nationally known one-day art and fine craft festival draws top-quality artists and a large, art-savvy and buying public.  Live music, picnic-style food and parking provided by non-profit organizations. Always held the third weekend in July.

40th Annual Paul Bunyan Fest

August 14, 2019

10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Downtown Eagle River.  This fun filled family fun event features chain saw carving demonstrations, over 75 arts-n-crafts vendors, and live musical entertainment.  Come on down and enjoy a Paul Bunyan size luncheon which includes a heap’n help’n of potato salad, corn, a HUGE BEEF sandwich and a cookie.  Food is served starting at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm or until gone.
