If The Snowshoe Fits, Wear It

With this many scenic trails and snowshoe events, maybe they should start calling us The Snowshoe Capital of the World too! Join us for a few, or all, of our favorite scenic spaces to snowshoe, cross-country ski and fat-tire bike when you get outdoors this winter in Eagle River.

See the New Loop at Fern Ridge Trail

Explore the new loop and parking area at Fern Ridge Trail during their Snowshoe Event on January 18th. A bonfire with hot chocolate and marshmallows follows the fun on the trail.

Join the Snowshoe Celebration

Tara Lila LLC’s 9th annual Snowshoe Celebration takes you to the largest and geographically dynamic park units the area offers. Snowshoe and fat-tire bike enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels can take part in the event and celebrate the beauty and wonder winter brings to the Northwoods. Join the fun on February 1st.

Spend a Day, or Two, at the Races

If your dogs are barking from all the snowshoeing, give them a break and head to the 40th annual Three Bear Sled Dog Races on February 1st and 2nd. And if you’re a musher, the Three Bear offers six dog, four dog, two dog, juniors and skijoring classes too.

Let the Candlelight Guide You

See the Awassa Trails in a whole new light – candlelight. On February 15th, you and your family can snowshoe, cross-country ski or fat-tire bike 1.4 miles of groomed trails and finish the unique night with hot cocoa and s’mores together around the bonfire.

Cure Your Cabin Fever

No, really. Northwoods Blizzard Blast is your annual cure to the winter blues. With tons of activities including: snowshoe baseball, snow sculpting, giant ski races, recliner hot laps and so much more, you’ll have a great time outdoors all while raising funds for the local Fire and EMS Departments. Come for the fun on February 15th.

Can’t Make It For an Event?

There’s still plenty of winter fun to be had at our favorite winter recreational areas and you can get your heart pumping on our other area cross-country ski trails. If you don’t have your own gear (or have limited space in the car), these area businesses have you covered with snowshoe and cross-country equipment to buy or rent.
