Three scenic loops that run through the Nicolet National Forest. Trails are mostly gravel but also include paved and hard-packed loam.
- Trail 1: 2.9 miles; loops around Vista Lake
- Trail 2: 6.8 miles; follows Hunters Road and Deerskin Road through heavily wooded forestland
- Trail 3: 13.1 miles; longer scenic ride that passes Imagene Lake, Dewey Lake and the Bearskin River
Elevation ranges from flat to gently rolling to hilly. Trails are also open for fatbiking in winter.
To reach the trailhead, head south from Phelps on Highway 17 for 4.4 miles and turn onto Deerskin Road (also known as Forest Road 2199). Follow Deerskin Road for 3.7 miles to the junction with Indian Road (Forest Road 2178), then turn east onto Indian Road for 0.7 miles to reach the parking area.
