Up North: Presented by Camping

There is a simple pleasure that comes from living in nature. Being surrounded by pines. Watching an eagle soar above. Smelling the lake air first thing in the morning. Sleeping in a tent or cabin. And of course, having some great company to share stories around a campfire truly tops off any Northwoods camping experience.

Camping in the Eagle River area brings you as close to nature as you’d ever hope to be. There’s a sense of getting back to your roots. Sometimes “roughing it” can help you appreciate the everyday amenities you’ve got at home. And if you’d like to stay connected with nature but don’t enjoy sleeping in a tent, there are options to buffer yourself from the ground a bit, including RV/campers and cabins.

While there aren’t as many campgrounds as there are lakes, the Eagle River area is home to plenty of camping options to fit the needs of any camper.

tent

Camping is In-Tents!

That’s what the diehards will have you believe. When done correctly, camping in a tent is actually quite relaxing. If you’re doing it right, you won’t even be in a tent most of the time. That’s because there will be a beach to enjoy, a lake to explore, or campfire to tend with friends and family. Hi-Pines Campground and Forest Pond Campground are two excellent places to find campsites and family friends activities nearby, like hiking and biking.

glamping

Glamping

For those who want the experience of sleeping under the stars but need a little more convenience, check out Eagle River’s glamping areas. With real beds, bedding, heating/cooling, electricity and more, you can get the best of both worlds. Some local glamping options include period-authentic themed campers and luxury tents, like at Coady’s Point of View Lake Resort, transporting guests to different eras in American camping.

onthelake

On the Lake

We’ve got quite a few lakes in the Eagle River area. And you better believe some of our campgrounds are within a stone’s throw of them. Access to water is as human a thing as there is. So when you’re nestled along Cranberry Lake, like you can be at Chain O’ Lakes Resort and Campground, campers don’t just get in touch with nature, they get in touch with themselves. Not to mention, activities like kayaking and pontoon rides are just a rental away.

cabin

The Cabin Life

Perfect for the summer or winter, a cabin in the woods is tough to beat. It might not be the most literal interpretation of camping, but being able to hear bird calls and see deer prancing while sitting around the table is close enough! Peaceful Pines Resort is just one of several campground options that offer cabins. When outdoor camping is no longer possible in the winter months, cabins are an excellent way to unplug and spend quality time with loved ones.
