2021 – Difficult decisions this year folks! Out of concern for the safety of the many visitors and dedicated volunteers, the event will not host the popular rides, races and hands-on activities this year. The good news is that we have joined forces with other community groups to host a ‘Family Fun’ day. All activities will be outdoors and hands-off to provide the safest possible WINTER FUN and allow social distancing. Kids visiting the popular sledding hill on the south end of the park will be able to catch a ride to the top of the hill pulled by the Conover SnoBuddie’s tractor. Open skating will be happening on the giant rink. Limited loaner skates are available in the nearby warming shed. Do-it-yourself snow fun will be spread across the ball fields (snow conditions permitting). The Pioneer Creek Recreational Trail is open for cross country ski and snowshoe enthusiasts. Adjacent to the park, the Vilas County Forest offers serenity for independent nature hikes. Food, hot cocoa and NBB signature s’mores cones will be available on site.
2022 – Winter Fun for Everyone! Cold weather enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides, Giant Ski Races, Recliner Races, Ice Bowling, Slap Shot Hockey, Firefighter Competitions and the Artisan Bazaar. Kids will revel in the Dogsled Dash, Chilly Charlie’s Challenge, Pin the Nose on the Snowman, Ring Toss, Snowman Pong and Mosaic Snow Art. Demonstrations in Archery, Snowshoeing and more will be held throughout the day. Food and refreshments available all day as well as beer at the popular “Snow Bar.” Warming fires and heated restrooms on site.
