The Walter E. Olson Memorial Library welcomes and supports all people to connect, learn, discover, and grow.
We strive to fulfill this mission by providing resources such as technology assistance and our JobPod workforce development program, as well as a dynamic and engaging calendar of events for all ages and interests.
In addition to our collection of books, magazines, DVDs, and audiobooks, we offer a variety of materials to our patrons through our Library of Things. With your library card, you can check out laptops & tablets, multimedia equipment, Wi-Fi hotspots, ukuleles, STEAM kits for young learners, board & tabletop games, and more! We also maintain specialized collections for local history, genealogy, Ojibwe Indigenous people, and memory & dementia caregiver resources.
Outside of the library, we provide an array of digital resources to our patrons, including ebooks & eaudiobooks, films & documentaries, and crafting tutorials.
Our digital media maker space, the Tinker Studio—outfitted with equipment for media digitization, video editing, and audio production—is available to our community at no charge!
We are equipped with meeting rooms for individuals and organizations, from small study spaces to a large program space accommodating up to 40 people.
Wireless internet is available throughout the building, and we provide several computers for public access. We’re a one-stop document services shop for printing, copying, faxing and laminating…even for 24-inch wide posters!
When you visit, our staff and devoted volunteers will be pleased to welcome you into our community and assist you in utilizing our many services!
