Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Show and Sidewalk Sales

10:00 am to 4:00 pm Downtown Eagle River. Kicking off the new summer tourist-filled season, this arts and crafts show will showcase many area crafters as well as artists from the northwoods and beyond. Also featured will be downtown businesses placing sale products for sale on  tables outside of their stores.

Eagle River's Up North Beerfest

Up North Beerfest will be held on the grounds of the Hi-Pines Campground. Microbrews and craft beers from more than 30 breweries will be featured. Attendees will receive a souvenir tasting glass and can learn about the brewing process from some of the Midwest’s most celebrated brewers.

Callie Rohr Memorial Canoe and Kayak Race

This is a 14-mile one-day canoe race on the historic Headwaters of the Wisconsin River. Paddlers can paddle a  14 mile course  or the short “Paddle For A Cure” race. This beautiful, fast and wild stream, with lots of challenging turns and obstacles, makes for an exciting and challenging race.

Recreation and Stock Boat racers will start from our RWT landing at 10:00 am and travel the racecourse to the landing at River Road. 

The pro-racers will do the entire course in one day beginning at 7:30 am on Saturday from RWT. “Paddle for a Cure”, a 3-mile race, starts at County K to River Road.   All racers will end at  River Road.  All spectators are welcome at Rohr’s Wilderness Tours, County K or at the finish on River Road.   Pig roast, raffles, and an awards ceremony to be held that evening at Rohr’s Wilderness Tours.   

The net proceeds from this worthwhile and fun event and all other direct fund raising will be used to fund pediatric brain tumor research.



Professional Musky Tournament Trail

The Professional Musky Tournament Trail events are the most high profile, exciting, educational and entertaining musky tournaments in the country. The PMTT’s high energy format has been developed not only with the Pro’s in mind, but also the dozens and dozens of other excellent musky anglers who may have the desire and ability to become Pro’s or just enjoy a little competition and want to have a good time. Success in the PMTT can take you down many roads, no matter what your skill level. Come join the PMTT and have fun. 



4th of July Parade and Fireworks Celebration

11:00 am, Downtown Eagle River.  Celebrate our nations’ freedom and Eagle River’s hometown pride by taking in our spectacular parade.  Over 100 entrants and over 60 floats showcase the parade’s annual theme.  Then, when dusk arrives on this celebratory day, come view the colorful fireworks shot high in the sky over the Hi-Pines Campground located on Hwy 45N of Eagle River.

35th Annual Guides Kids Day

July 14, 2016

This is fun filled day for children between the ages of 7-12 years old. Area guides come together to share the beautiful northwoods by taking a child fishing for the afternoon. It’s a great event where many fishing tales and traits are shared and learned. 43rd Annual Artarama – Riverwalk Art Show and Sale

9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Riverside Park.This nationally known one-day art and fine craft festival draws top-quality artists and a large, art-savvy and buying public.  Live music, picnic-style food and parking provided by non-profit organizations. Always held the third weekend in July.

35th Annual Paul Bunyan Fest

August 17, 2016

10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Downtown Eagle River.  This fun filled family fun event features chain saw carving demonstrations, over 75 arts-n-crafts vendors, and live musical entertainment.  Come on down and enjoy a Paul Bunyan size luncheon which includes a heap’n help’n of potato salad, corn, a HUGE BEEF sandwich and a cookie.  Food is served starting at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm or until gone.

30th Annual National Championship Musky Open

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center along with the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin each year host a very exciting family oriented catch and release musky tournament held on 7 different lake families.

Join us for one of two great rides:

  • A Trail Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Three Lakes Winery and back on the Three Eagle Trail (28 miles).
  • A Northwoods Road Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Conover, WI area on a loop route (31 miles).

Proceeds support the Great Headwaters Trails Foundation in the development of bike trails for eastern Vilas County.

AMSOIL World Championships Snowmobile Derby

January 19-22, 2017

From its humble beginnings on Dollar Lake to the multi-million dollar facility we all enjoy today; the Derby was destined to be the best. It hosts three separate racing venues: ice oval, sno-cross and vintage racing.  Thursday evening features time trials, Friday night features “Friday Night Thunder”, Saturday features grueling heats, quarter and semi finals all leading up to the Championship Finals on Sunday. Racing Daily at 10:00 am.

20th Annual Journeys Marathon

May 13, 2017 – 21st Annual


Journeys Marathon is a challenging and inspirational spring race that starts with the woodland backdrop of Boulder Junction, WI on rustic roads while meandering through the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest and passing many scenic northern Wisconsin lakes. This is a race not to be missed.  Other races offered include a half marathon, 13.1 mile power walk, 10K and 5K.
