Down to Discover: Tamarack Off-Highway Motorcycle Trail

There’s nothing quite like touring the Northwoods on your motorcycle, weaving through the scenic highways, taking in the picturesque lake views, feeling long stretches of highway beneath your tires, and finding plenty of places to stop and stretch or grab a bite. But if you’re looking to rev up your ride a little, we’ve got the perfect place for you: The Tamaracks Off-Highway Motorcycle Trail – limited to dirt bikes and dual sport motorcycles.

The Tamaracks OHM trail system (located at 5019 Tamarack Road in Conover) offers riders various difficulty levels to meet your comfort and rider experience level, and takes you through the Northwoods for a rugged, fun ride you can’t find many other places.

Choose from three loops:

  • Green is an easy 8.5 miles of family friendly loop of maintained terrain
  • Blue is 6.5 miles and offers a more challenging tighter trail tread through it
  • Black is for the technical rider that can navigate rocks and logs for 7.2 miles

Whichever loop you choose, you’ll need a Wisconsin DNR OHM permit to ride. You can find that and make reservations online. Tamaracks OHM is open late spring to early fall.

Start planning your trip to Tamarack and discover Eagle River on your bike.
